Hyōryū II picks up minutes after the prologue ends. Ren walks home through empty streets, the folded napkin in his pocket, and sits down to draw properly this time, with real ink, on real paper. He understands, without anyone telling him, that drawing himself is the only way to stay. By the end of the chapter, his right hand has recovered two percent of its solidity. This is where the rule of the project becomes visible. He bets on himself. He bets on you noticing.
